You may already be familiar with the work of English photographer Leon Steele. For the past 25 years his work has been seen by millions of people around the globe.
His high achievement as a commercial photographer and as an artist have seen him shoot on assignment for the world’s leading advertising agencies, bringing to life countless ad campaigns for prodigious global brands from Amnesty International to Absolut Vodka.
Leon has twice had work selected for the Royal Academy of Art Summer Exhibition in London as well as exhibiting in Paris and New York. Prized amongst his many awards was winning the prestigious John Kobal Portrait Award (now Taylor Wessing). He also featured in the 10 year Kobal retrospective at the National Portrait Gallery in London.
Having trained in the analogue world of film and chemicals and worked through the industry's seismic shift to a digitised medium, Leon considers that he is fortunate in having to straddle and master both worlds.
Gained through years of still life discipline, his precise methods, deliberate decision making and meticulous attention to detail have given Leon an aesthetic to his artwork that fewer and fewer in his field can rival. His use of newer technologies only enhancing an already consummate craft.
Leon's continued involvement in photography at the highest level and over so many years, have bought with it many accolades and international recognition as one of the leaders in the field.
